Embrace What You Love

Updated: Aug 2

In our homes and even in commercial spaces we often accumulate items over time. There are essential items like certain records that we must make room for. Some items like those which hold sentimental value bring us joy while other items simply take up space.

XThrough the years we've learned about the value of creating room in life for things we love. Most of you understand when we say that as we strive to create spaces that inspire and uplift, life can get in the way of making time to prioritize our environments. The daily hustle of doing all the things for all people has placed our homes and work spaces on the back burner and yet there are so many factors to our environments that can make us happier, healthier, and live a life of flow. So for the rising professional, the single parent, and the entrepreneur out there everyday making things happen we're sharing a few tips to help you prioritize building a feel good environment to bring more joy in your life.

Let Go of the Clutter

Be honest with yourself about the items that no longer serve a purpose or bring you happiness. It can be difficult to part with belongings, especially if they hold sentimental value or are associated with memories. However, holding onto clutter can weigh us down and prevent us from fully enjoying our surroundings. Practice gratitude for the memories associated with these items, then let them go to make room for new experiences and opportunities. Try writing a letter to say goodbye or closing rituals are a few ways in which we like to practice gratitude and let things go.

Declutter Mindfully

Don't be in a hurry to declutter. Declutter mindfully by considering each item individually and its significance in your life. Ask yourself if the items brings you joy or serves a practical purpose. If not, it may be time to part ways with it. It's ok to feel different today than you used to feel about it.

Make Space for Joy

Once you've cleared out the clutter, take a moment to appreciate the newfound space in your home. Avoid filling negative or white space too prematurely. Empty space is good for the mind and soul. We find that it's often where new, creative ideas emerge. Embrace that. Once you've allowed the time to mentally process the possibilities, use this opportunity to arrange your belongings in a way that brings you joy and promotes a sense of calm and balance. Display your favorite items prominently, whether it's family photos, artwork, or cherished heirlooms, and let them serve as reminders of what truly matters to you.

In conclusion, making the most of items you love and letting go of things you don't is a powerful way to create an environment that brings joy. By declutter mindfully you can create a space that nourished your soul and enhances your well-being. Until next time.

Stay Simply Inspired.
